What
is the deal with my cleric's religion?
Pick
a god you like the sound of and get two domain powers and a favoured
weapon.
Where
can we go to buy standard equipment?
Pick
up anything worth 800gp or less in the small towns, 200gp or less in
the villages. More expensive items require a trip to the capital.
Where
can we go to get platemail custom fitted for this monster I just
befriended?
Try
Silverhaven. Failing that then a voyage across the sea to the mighty
trade city of Soull.
Who
is the mightiest wizard in the land?
Yaztromo
the Sorcerer lives in a tower in the Dirkwood.
Who
is the greatest warrior in the land?
Lord
Calunghetta, Guardian of Sentinal Hill, Liberator of Mokyll and
Slayer of the Giant Nosnra.
Who
is the richest person in the land?
Lech
Bronislaw, a clever and capable merchant.
Where
can we go to get some magical healing?
If Sormav, priestess of Hecate cannot help you then turn to the Wind
Dancers or the Temple of Abarta in Tydd Gott.
Where
can we go to get cures for the following conditions: poison, disease,
curse, level drain, lycanthropy, polymorph, alignment change, death,
undeath?
Sormav can treat poison and disease, curses can be lifted in Tydd Gote.
Anything worse than that and you're in trouble!
Is
there a magic guild my MU belongs to or that I can join in order to
get more spells?
Afraid
not. The mysteries of the arcane are closely guarded secrets.
Where
can I find an alchemist, sage or other expert NPC?
You
can try to find one at any large settlement. BX rules apply when
hiring.
Where
can I hire mercenaries?
Wherever
there is conflict.
Is
there any place on the map where swords are illegal, magic is
outlawed or any other notable hassles from Johnny Law?
Using
magic in public will cause fear and alarm from the common folk,
otherwise don't do anything that you can't bribe your way out
of. Oh, and be careful who you hurt, you never know who they're
friends with.
Which
way to the nearest tavern?
Just
follow your nose.
What
monsters are terrorizing the countryside sufficiently that if I kill
them I will become famous?
The
Svartalfar are a constant menace in the White River Plains, and in the
hills of the Korm Penninsula the dead are massing.
Are
there any wars brewing I could go fight?
The
Dragon Council in Wintershiven has designs on all of the Northern
Free States. Rebels in Glotspur fight a guerrilla war against the
Krakenheim tyranny. Far to the west the Holy Aerisian Empire tears
itself apart in a three sided civil war. All is strife.
How
about gladiatorial arenas complete with hard-won glory and fabulous
cash prizes?
Try
your arm at the Temple of Modi in Tydd Gott. If you survive then fame
and gold can be earned in the
arenas of the Pomeraine.
Are
there any secret societies with sinister agendas I could join
and/or fight?
Cilhadrai
agitators seek to halt expansion of the Free States into the
surrounding wilderness. Others with less obvious agendas watch and
scheme from the shadows.
What
is there to eat around here?
Fish
and game, mainly. The fare might not be very sophisticated but it is
hearty and warming.
Any
legendary lost treasures I could be looking for?
The
Hammer and Ring of Alberich the Damned are said to lie beneath the
ancient halls of Mokyll.
Where
is the nearest dragon or other monster with Type H treasure?
Far
from here, thank the gods!
